22 June 2009: 3D Route Builder is now available for 9.95 Euros until the end of July! (normally 15 Euros).
12 June 2009: 3D Route Builder 1.3.2 is out. This fixes a nasty bug that prevented saving of courses that were opened from a url (e.g. from Google Maps).
11 June 2009: If you wish to purchase from us directly instead of through the website then please contact us. We’ll send you a license key within a day along with an invoice.
27 April 2009: 3D Route Builder 1.3.1 supports Google Earth Mars mode! To celebrate this you can download a gpx file of a fantasy route up the massive Olympus Mons, the largest mountain in the solar system and 2.5 times higher than Everest. On a serious note we’ve also fixed some bugs and allowed users of the free version to disable the adverts and info banners.
11 March 2009: 3D Route Builder 1.3 is released and you can get it on the download page. New features include:
* Support added for Garmin TCX history files loading, * Support for Google Earth 5.0 KML files, * Improved messages for file load errors, * Really nice printing of the data grid, * Setting of network link refresh interval to Google Earth (for very large routes), * On/Off of network link (for huge routes)
02 March 2009: Google Earth 5.0 produces a new version of KML that we currently do not support. To workaround the problem open the kml file in a text editor and change the line <kml xmlns="http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2" xmlns:gx="http://www.google.com/kml/ext/2.2" xmlns:kml="http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom"> to <kml>.
01 March 2009: We’ve had a number of inquiries about new versions of 3D Route Builder. Well we’d like to release something soon but we’re still stuck with the issue of Google Earth support - the new web plug-in would be ideal to use from these applications, but we’re still not clear on the Google terms and conditions of use. The current COM based interface is no longer being expanded by Google and gave problems with version 4.3. In the mean time 3D Route Builder remains the best path editor for Google Earth.
On another note we are getting increasing numbers of questions about Garmin TCX files. 3D Route Builder only supports course versions of these and not the history versions that are the default. So you need to use the Garmin software to first create courses from the training sessions in your history file. Unfortunately we do not give a warning when you try to open a history file, instead nothing happens. More info here.
23 December 2008: Google Translate is available on every page of this website now. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select your language.
13 November 2008: Active GPX Route Player Business is now available and features a very powerful route analysis feature. The generated html reports shows details including time and length of stops, distance, speeds and uses the new Google Maps reverse geo-coding to show the street addresses of all points of interest.
20 October 2008: A demonstration of the output report of the new Active GPX Route Player Analysis function is available here. The source GPS files for this report are here.
16 October 2008: A new version of Active GPX Route Player is due for release shortly. The big addition will be for commercial logistics users wanting to analyze GPS recordings. Active GPX Route Player Business can create detailed reports of stoppage and driving times, average and maximum speeds, and it links directly to Google Maps. Basic price is still to be decided but is likely to be about 60 Euros for the off-the-shelf software. An easily modified CSS file is also generated allowing you to customise the report appearance but if you prefer a low price report customisation service offered - basically if the reports do not look exactly like you want them or you need a different statistic then this can be done by us quickly and cheaply.
